Bedford Blues 2016/17 Squad Grows

With two games remaining in this season's Greene King IPA Championship, Bedford Blues have strengthened their squad for the next campaign with one new signing and three re-signings. Running out at Goldington Road next season will be scrum half Tom James, 23, who has joined from Loughborough Students. James, can also play at fullback, has captained Loughborough as well as featuring in the England Students squad which lost out to France by three points last weekend. Peter Lydon signs new contract with London Scottish

London Scottish is today delighted to confirm that Peter Lydon has signed a new contract with the club. Lydon will now enter his third year at the Athletic Ground. He has been one of the standout performers throughout the 15/16 season, and was nominated for September's Greene King IPA Championship Player of the Month Award. The Irishman joined the Scots from Stade Francais ahead of the 14/15 campaign, and has since scored 457 points in 54 appearances, including 12 tries, 101 conversions and 64 penalties. On four occasions this season his left boot has been the match-winner in the closing stages. Doncaster Knights announce triple signing

Knights are delighted to announce three exciting new additions to the Knights squad for the 2016/17 season. Clive Griffiths and the Knights coaching staff have completed three quality additions for the 2016/17 campaign as it is announced that lock David Nolan, back row Jarad Williams and centre Lloyd Hayes have all penned at Castle Park. The trio boast a wealth of professional experience with Hayes and Williams familiar foe for the Knights arriving from Rotherham Titans and Yorkshire Carnegie respectively. McColl returns north to Yorkshire Carnegie

Full back Stevie McColl will re-join Yorkshire Carnegie on a two year contract from the 2016-17 season after agreeing a deal that will see him return to the club he left in 2014. The 27-year-old spent three seasons with Carnegie after joining them from local rivals Doncaster Knights. His form for Carnegie was good enough to earn him a call up to the Scotland Six Nations training squad despite playing outside of the top flight.
